In January 2026, Startup Alliance and the Beijing Overseas Students Center co-hosted the first Beijing International Youth Startup Bootcamp — an intensive format designed for young international founders at the very start of their journey.
What happened inside
Over the bootcamp, dozens of young founders from universities across Beijing worked through:
- Founder fundamentals — how to test an idea before falling in love with it.
- China market basics — registration, policy and what "landing" actually means in practice.
- Mentorship sessions — one-on-one time with founders and operators from the Alliance mentor network.
- A final mini-pitch — every participant stood up and told their story, many for the first time.
Why a bootcamp for youth founders
The pipeline of the ecosystem runs from campus to company. Venture Builders takes student founders through a full 7-day venture journey; the bootcamp is the on-ramp — a first, low-pressure encounter with entrepreneurship for international students who are curious but not yet committed.
Several participants have already joined Venture Builders 2026 and the PhD & Scholars Community.

The bootcamp was made possible by the Beijing Overseas Students Center and the guidance of the Chaoyang District Bureau of Talent Work. Thank you to every mentor who gave a Saturday to the next generation of founders.
